BEIJING - Chinese automaker GAC Group is confident in bringing its multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) lineup to the Indonesian market. This stems from its extensive experience and strong achievements in the domestic market, particularly in the MPV segment. President of GAC International, Wei Haigang, stated that GAC’s MPV lineup is one of the company’s flagship offerings in the local Chinese market. This serves as crucial capital for GAC’s expansion into global markets, including Indonesia, known as one of the largest markets for family MPVs. Haigang added that GAC will not only introduce a single model but also prepare various MPV variants to meet the needs of Indonesian consumers. “We will bring other types of MPVs to the Indonesian market,” he said. In line with this, CEO of GAC Indonesia, Andry Ciu, revealed that the initial step will involve launching the 7-seater MPV, the GAC E9. According to Andry, the introduction of this model is part of GAC Indonesia’s strategy to expand its product portfolio in the country, not only in the MPV segment but also in others. “Whether there are subsequent units, as I mentioned, there are also SUVs, EV SUVs, and new technologies,” he said. The E9 PHEV itself adopts a premium vehicle concept with luxurious design, spacious cabin, and futuristic technological touches. These characteristics are deemed suitable for Indonesian consumers who seek high comfort, especially for family use or executive mobility.
