Conditions Normalise at Bojonggede Station Following KRL Power Disruption
DEPOK – Conditions at several stations along the Bogor line have gradually returned to normal following an operational power failure in the overhead catenary system (OCS) that disrupted KRL Commuter Line services on Wednesday (11 March 2026) afternoon and evening.
Observations at Bojonggede Station around 19:40–20:15 WIB showed that passenger activity had largely normalised. Platform congestion only occurred momentarily when train sets stopped to disembark passengers. No significant passenger congestion was visible on the platforms, though crowding remained noticeable inside the train sets arriving at the station.
One passenger, Ririn (57), reported being stranded at Depok Station for more than 30 minutes as trains operated on a single alternating track. She departed from Jayakarta Station at 16:45 WIB but did not arrive at Bojonggede Station until 19:15 WIB, a journey that normally takes about 90 minutes but took over two and a half hours.
“I left Pangjay at 16:45, should have arrived at Bojong by 18:05 but arrived at 19:15 instead,” Ririn said.
Another passenger, Prastika (22), reported her train was delayed at Pasar Minggu Station. Her journey to Universitas Pancasila Station, which normally takes about 15 minutes, took approximately 30 minutes.
KRL Commuter Line services on the Jakarta Kota–Bogor route experienced disruptions due to problems with the overhead catenary system on the Citayam–Bojonggede section on Wednesday afternoon. The Bojonggede–Citayam section was cleared for train operation using a single alternating track, according to KAI Commuter Vice President Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda.
The disruption attracted significant attention on social media. An Instagram account documenting KRL commuter issues shared videos showing passengers walking between railway tracks and evacuation of those trapped inside train sets. Some passengers chose to exit trains independently.
Despite the delays, conditions at stations have now stabilised and accumulated passengers have dispersed.
