Condition of Woman's Body Found in Box in Medan: Bound with Bedsheet and Wrapped in Sacking

Police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body inside a container box on Jalan Menteng, Gang Seroja, Medan Denai, Medan City, North Sumatra. Officers have identified bruise marks and signs of assault on the victim’s body.

“Yes, we are continuing to investigate these injuries,” said AKBP Bayu Putro Wijayanto, Chief of Criminal Investigation (Kasat Reskrim) of Medan Police District. “There is suspicion of assault, but we cannot speculate. We are coordinating with forensic doctors to investigate further.”

Wijayanto stated that the victim’s body was bound using hotel bedsheet material. The corpse was then wrapped with sacking and placed inside the container box.

“Yes, the body was wrapped partly with sacking and partly with cloth material, then placed in the box,” he said.

Wijayanto denied that the body showed signs of mutilation. The victim is believed to have died recently, given that the body had not yet become rigid.

“We are continuing and developing our investigation. There is no mutilation; the body remains intact,” he said. Police are coordinating with forensic experts to determine the exact cause of death and are pursuing further leads in the case.
