BEKASI — The Indonesian Toll Road Association (ATI) has assured that toll road conditions across various regions of Indonesia are ready to handle the surge in homebound travel and return traffic during the Eid holiday period.

“My evaluation is that almost everything is in prime condition,” said ATI Secretary General Kris Ade Sudiyono to the Merapah Trans-Jawa 2026 team at PT Jasa Marga Tollroad Command Center (JMTC) in Jatiasih, Bekasi, West Java on Monday (09 March 2026).

The Merapah 2026 programme has received full support from the Indonesian Toll Road Association (ATI), PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Honda Prospect Motor (APM), ASTRA Infra, PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk, and Waskita Toll Road.

“With this support, we are currently ensuring both infrastructure readiness and traffic management planning, and through discussions with the government, hopefully everything will be in ready condition by H-10 (ten days before Eid),” he said.

Kris Ade stated that toll road entrepreneurs and operators have two main obligations in facing the holiday travel period.

“First is infrastructure readiness — we must ensure road conditions are in prime condition for use. Second is our responsibility to assist in traffic management arrangements,” he explained.

Eid holiday travel is an annual Indonesian tradition characterised by a surge in mobility across various toll road sections.

To maintain safety and smooth travel, toll road operators working with the government have prepared various anticipatory measures, ranging from infrastructure readiness to safety campaigns for holiday travellers.

Kris Ade also reminded that holiday travel safety depends not only on toll road readiness but also on the behaviour and preparation of road users.

“Plan your Eid holiday departure and return journey wisely,” he said.

He explained that people typically tend to travel at the same time, particularly in the days leading up to Eid and immediately after the Eid holiday.

However, the travel period is actually quite lengthy, allowing holiday travellers to arrange their departure times more flexibly.
