Condition at Scene of Deadly Clash in Menteng Now Conducive
The location of a deadly clash on Jalan Tambak in the Menteng area of Central Jakarta is now reported to be conducive. The brawl, which occurred yesterday, resulted in the death of one person.
Monitoring at the scene on Monday (27/7/2026) at 10.20 WIB showed that police lines had been installed. Remnants of the disturbance, such as stone debris and a burnt building, were still visible at the location.
Satpol PP officers were seen standing guard across from the site, and no activity was observed at the scene of the clash.
Meanwhile, on Jalan Matraman Mesjid, a number of police and military personnel were seen on guard. Heavily armed Brimob officers were also present. This location is where a nasi uduk stall is situated, which is where the initial altercation reportedly began.
Previously, the clash on Jalan Tambak, Menteng, Central Jakarta, resulted in one fatality. The individual died after being taken to the hospital.
‘This latest information is that two people were secured from the crime scene in critical condition, but upon arrival at the hospital, one had died,’ said Central Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Roby Heri Saputra to reporters on Sunday (26/7/2026).
Roby explained that the police received a report from residents around 10.00 WIB regarding a disturbance between a group and local residents. Police intervened by deploying Brimob personnel to the location.
‘Of the victims we secured from the crime scene, two were taken to RSCM, and from the group of residents, there were two groups, one group of six people and the other two people from outside whom we are currently securing and taking statements from at the Menteng Police Station,’ he clarified.
