The Aqsa Working Group (AWG) has strongly condemned the installation of a banner celebrating Israel’s national day at the Indonesia Hospital in the Gaza Strip. The organisation considers this action an unacceptable provocation. The brutality carried out by the Zionist regime in Palestinian territories is also regarded as a violation of international law.

AWG Presidium Chairman Anshorullah stated that the banner’s placement reflects colonial practices in occupied territories. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) show no regard for the hospital’s function as public infrastructure that should be free from attacks.

“The installation of the banner as part of their national day celebration is characteristic of the colonial regime’s practices in occupied land,” Anshorullah told Republika recently.

He emphasised that the Indonesia Hospital in Gaza is a symbol of humanity built from donations by the Indonesian people, initiated by MER-C. Its presence serves not only as a healthcare facility but also as an emblem of solidarity between the Indonesian and Palestinian nations, both sharing a history of colonisation.

According to Anshorullah, any violation of this facility constitutes an insult to the dignity of the Indonesian nation. He also alluded to Israel’s close alliance with the United States in the global geopolitical context.

AWG has urged the United Nations (UN) to take legal action against Israel for this incident, as well as various violations occurring in Palestine and the Al-Aqsa Mosque area.
