Concession holders threatened
JAKARTA (JP): The Maluku administration is threatening to
revoke the licenses of three forest concessionaires that have
left their concessions remain idle for many years.
The chairman of the province's forestry office, Oesman
Joesoef, said over the weekend that the three concessionaires are
PT Witanco Rimba, PT Wana Adiguna and PT Jati Maluku Timber.
"If the three companies don't have acceptable explanations
for the long delay, we will revoke their licenses soon," Oesman
was quoted by Antara as saying.
A total of 37 companies have received forest concession
licenses in the province. Only three remain inoperative, he said.
