Concerned over hoodlums
Concerned over hoodlums
From Bisnis Indonesia
Today people in the city feel insecure going to work.
The city buses are not a safe means of transportation any more.
Buskers are always pestering passengers and there is risk of your
cellular phone or money being stolen.
And to make matters worse, traveling by taxi also does not
guarantee your safety. Every time I stop a taxi, there will be
people asking for money despite the fact that I have not used
their service. Rp 500 is not always enough for them and the
drivers cannot do anything as they are afraid their car will be
scratched.
We understand that many people are unemployed because of the
economic crises, but this acts must not be tolerated. The city
governor's promise to eliminate hoodlums remains unfulfilled.
We hope the National and Jakarta Police chiefs can solve this
problem.
