Con methods abound in Jakarta

Victims of either overt or covert swinding activities are
increasing every day.

It has been said that the con men have practiced hypnotism on
their victims. Take for instance, the incident in the
Krawang, West Java, when a different method with the use of money
crates in broad daylight, was put into practice.

A public transport driver of the Kebayoran Lama area was
another victim of deception. His vehicle was chartered by a
person wearing the uniform of an army officer who told him that
he had to pick up a catering order in Blok A in Kebayoran Baru.

These are a few methods used by irresponsible people. And in
most cases, the crooks were clad in uniform.

There are a variety of these uniforms, including officers,
even higher ranks of the army, the police, navy and the army.

I have observed that in all those incidents, the victims were
taken in by the tantalizing promises of the crooks.

I have been a victim of such crooks. I call upon the general
public to exercise great caution. Do not trust unknown persons,
visitors, or anyone whose identity is vague.
