Con artists arrested
GROBOGAN, Central Java: Six con artists acting as collectors of donations for a mosque and an Islamic boarding school from West Java were arrested by police on Tuesday.
The four men, aged between 24 and 34, and all from Bogor, were caught trying to get away after cheating a businessman out of Rp 1.5 million (about US$700), Antara reported.
The entrepreneur was spellbound by the men's explanation that the money would be used to build a school and a mosque although they did not show him any documents to support their claims.
He realized he had been cheated after the gang left. (pan)
