education

The Outlines of the State Policy (GBHN) 1993 stipulates that
the aim of the second long-term development plan is to build an
advanced and prosperous nation, materially and spiritually.

In this spirit, the government has determined that the 9-year
compulsory education program will begin on May 2. President
Soeharto appealed to all parties to participate in making the
compulsory education program a success.

We have good reason to be optimistic that the program can be
carried out successfully. But it is essential to create a climate
that will develop innovation and creativity, which in turn will
make Pancasila democracy flourish.
