Comprehensive Facilities at KM 43A Rest Area, Including Electric Vehicle Charging
Travellers planning long-distance journeys towards Merak do not need to worry about the readiness of rest areas along the route. The Tangerang-Merak toll road already has adequate rest area facilities to meet the needs of toll road users, including the KM 43A Rest Area.
According to Uswatun Hasanah, Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability Management at ASTRA Infra Toll Road Tangerang-Merak, the KM 43A Rest Area can accommodate 110 small vehicles and 60 large vehicles. Electric vehicle users need not worry about undertaking the journey towards Merak, as the KM 43A Rest Area has already provided adequate public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU).
There are 1 unit of SPKLU with a capacity of 25 kW, 5 units of SPKLU with a capacity of 50 kW, and 2 units of ultra-fast charging stations. The rest area offers diverse facilities, including public fuel filling stations (SPBU), dining and rest tables and chairs, food stalls, prayer rooms, and bathrooms.
It is estimated that approximately 154,000 vehicles will pass through the Tangerang-Merak toll road per day during the Lebaran exodus period, slightly lower than normal conditions due to vehicle restrictions during this period. The average daily traffic (LHR) on the Tangerang-Merak toll road is 155,000 vehicles. This represents a marginal decrease of 0.2 per cent, though it is higher than the traffic during the Lebaran period in the previous year.
ASTRA Infra Toll Road Tangerang-Merak has taken a number of steps to address potential surges in vehicle traffic during the Lebaran exodus period. Preparations have been made across road infrastructure, facilities and services, traffic management, and on-site staff deployment.
