JAKARTA — Indonesia’s Composite Index (IHSG) closed lower during Monday 16 March 2026 trading. The index fell 114.92 points or 1.61 per cent to 7,022.28.

Throughout the trading session, the IHSG remained in negative territory with a low of 6,917 and a high of 7,120.

Trading activity on the Indonesia Stock Exchange was reasonably brisk. Total share trading volume reached 32.07 billion shares worth Rp 15.98 trillion.

Of all shares traded, 542 shares declined, 180 shares advanced and 98 shares remained unchanged.

Despite IHSG facing downward pressure, foreign investors recorded net foreign purchases of Rp 1.02 trillion across the entire market.

The main foreign purchases by company included: PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk (EMAS) Rp 564.6 billion, PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR) Rp 472.93 billion, PT Adaro Andalan Indonesia Tbk (AADI) Rp 166.71 billion, and PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) Rp 100.49 billion.

Further purchases included: PT Archi Indonesia Tbk (ARCI) Rp 82.42 billion, PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) Rp 53.25 billion, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Rp 41.12 billion, PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) Rp 40.58 billion, PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG) Rp 40.35 billion and PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) Rp 38.02 billion.

Major banking stock purchases included: PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) Rp 400.11 billion, PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) Rp 201.66 billion and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) Rp 131.37 billion.

Additional purchases comprised: PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) Rp 116.92 billion, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) Rp 108.27 billion, PT GoTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) Rp 85.6 billion and PT Amman Mineral International Tbk (AMMN) Rp 64.37 billion.

Other purchases included: PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA) Rp 31.16 billion, PT Alamtri Minerals Indonesia Tbk (ADMR) Rp 17.18 billion and PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) Rp 13.04 billion.
