In response to adhering to transparent royalty regulations, the Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) has entered into a partnership with Velodiva for the legal recording and use of music. Aprindo itself oversees more than 200 members and over 80,000 outlets across Indonesia.

This step is taken by Aprindo as an effort to build a more orderly and measurable music management system. The technology-based approach enables systematic, transparent, and accurate reporting of music usage.

“Indonesian retail continues to grow, and its operational standards are always improving. Music is no longer just a complement but has become part of the customer experience that needs to be managed professionally. This partnership is a tangible form of Aprindo’s support to its members in meeting those needs,” said Aprindo General Chairman Solihin in a press release received by Media Indonesia on Thursday (9/4).

Velodiva CEO Vedy Eriyanto stated that business actors’ awareness of the importance of music licensing shows a very positive trend in recent years. This indicates that the industry has moved towards a more mature and professional phase.

“Business actors in Indonesia have now entered a far more mature phase than before. The consistent education carried out by the Velodiva team over the past 1-2 years has yielded proud results,” said Vedy.

“Music users in commercial spaces, including Aprindo members, now understand that with our technology, recordings of the nation’s children can be played officially, while ensuring all activities are documented transparently to support fair royalty distribution,” added Vedy.
