Complete Instructions from TNI Commander Following Attack on UNIFIL Troops

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto uploaded a video containing direct orders to the Commander of the Yonmek XXIII-S/UNIFIL Task Force in Lebanon. The instructions were posted via Agus’s Instagram account @91agussubiyanto on Saturday (4 April 2026). The video contains an order following repeated attacks on United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) troops while carrying out their mission. For context, the attacks resulted in the deaths of three TNI personnel on duty. The TNI Commander’s instructions were firm; he stated that the top priority is to ensure the safety and protection of troops in the southern Lebanon assignment area while fulfilling the nation’s mandate. In addition to direct instructions to maintain the morale and spirit of the troops, as well as to secure themselves in bunkers, Agus offered prayers for the troops to remain under the protection of the Almighty God. “May all troops always be under the protection of Allah SWT, the Almighty God, granted strength and steadfastness in carrying out their duties, and safety in every step of their service. Our prayers accompany every step you take,” he wrote in the video caption. For context, the attacks on UNIFIL occurred on 29-30 March 2026 and killed three TNI personnel on duty. The three personnel were Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Sergeant Muhammad Nur Ikhwan, and Private Farizal Rhomadhon. A few days later, the bodies could be repatriated to Indonesia amid the ongoing Middle East conflict between Iran and Israel-United States. The bodies of the TNI personnel arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday (4 April 2026) at 18:00 WIB. The three bodies were then transported to their respective hometowns for military funerals. Major Inf (Posthumous) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar will be buried at TMP Cikutra, Bandung. Serka (Posthumous) Muhammad Nur Ikhwan will be buried at TMP Giri Dharmoloyo II, Magelang. Meanwhile, Kopda (Posthumous) Farizal Rhomadhon will be buried at TMP Giripeni, Kulonprogo.
