A tragic case involving the discovery of a woman’s remains in conditions reduced to skeletal form at a house in Meruyung, Limo, Depok City shocked the public in early March 2026. The skeletal remains, found beneath piles of clothing, revealed dark facts about domestic violence and the perpetrator’s cunning efforts to conceal the crime for months.

The tragedy was discovered on Saturday, 7 March 2026, at approximately 09:00 WIB. The victim’s child, with initials L, came to their mother’s residence on Jalan Damai Raya, Meruyung, intending to clean the house, which was believed to be unoccupied. While tidying piles of clothing and carpets in the bedroom, L was startled by the appearance of dried human leg bones.

Based on investigations by the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya), the victim, DH, had passed away in October 2025. This means the corpse had been in the house for approximately five months without being discovered by neighbours or close family members.

One of the most striking facts in this case was the discovery of coffee powder scattered across the victim’s remains. The perpetrator deliberately sprinkled coffee to mask the putrid smell from the decomposing body. This was why surrounding residents did not detect any suspicious odours despite the victim’s residence being in a densely populated area.

Police moved swiftly and successfully arrested the suspect, with initials ARH (Ahmad Ronny Hasiholan), aged 44, on Sunday, 8 March 2026, in the Jatimulya area, Tambun Selatan, Bekasi. ARH was the victim’s unofficial husband, having married in December 2024. After murdering the victim, the perpetrator fled with DH’s motorcycle and mobile phone.

The motive behind this heinous act is believed to be economic in nature. The perpetrator, who had no stable employment, harboured resentment after being thrown out by the victim. A severe quarrel in October 2025 culminated when the perpetrator strangled the victim until she became limp, then wrapped raffia twine around her neck to ensure her death.

Metro Jaya Regional Police revealed that economic issues triggered the murder behind the discovery of the skeletal remains of a woman in Depok, West Java.
