Complete Case File: Richard Lee to Stand Trial Soon in Health Case
The case file for Richard Lee, as a suspect in a case of alleged violations in the health sector and consumer protection, has been declared P-21 or complete by the High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Banten).
“Today, alhamdulillah the file has been declared P-21. So today the file of suspect DRL has been declared P-21 by Kejati Banten,” said Kasubbid Penmas Bidhumas Polda Metro Jaya Commissioner Andaru Rahutomo to reporters, on Friday (22/5).
Andaru said that investigators are currently awaiting the schedule for the second-stage handover to the prosecutor.
After the second-stage handover is carried out, Richard will soon face trial in court.
“The next obligation of investigators is to hand over the suspect, the evidence and the case file to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for indictment. The timing is expected soon,” Andaru said.
The case involving Richard began with a report filed by Samira Farahnaz or the ‘dokter detektif’ (doktif) on 2 December 2024 with file number LP/B/7317/XII/2024/SPKT Polda Metro Jaya.
From the results of the investigation and inquiry, police named Richard as a suspect in the alleged violations in health and consumer protection. He has held suspect status since 15 December 2025.
In this matter, Richard is charged under Article 435 in conjunction with Article 138(2) of Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health, with a potential penalty of up to 12 years’ imprisonment and/or a fine of up to Rp5 billion.
Richard is also charged under Article 62(1) in conjunction with Article 8(1) and/or Article 9(1) of Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection with a potential penalty of up to five years’ imprisonment and/or a fine of up to Rp2 billion.
Richard was formally detained at the Metro Jaya Police Detention Centre after completing further questioning as a suspect on Friday night, 6 March.
