Competition for foreign students
JAKARTA (JP): An English language consultant Lembaga Antar Bangsa is scheduled to hold a competition in poetry writing and reading in Bahasa Indonesia for foreign students in Jakarta, Lilimunir Croft announced yesterday.
The competition will be held by the consultant in cooperation with the Association of Indonesian Teachers at Jakarta-based Foreign Schools (Ikapinsi) and publishing company PT Gramedia on June 10, 1995, at Bentara Budaya on Jl. Palmerah Selatan, Central Jakarta, said Lilimunir, chair of the organizing committee.
The event is to be held in conjunction with the commemoration of the 50th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
Lilimunir said that the organizing committee has chosen six topics for the writing competition, including: why I like Indonesia, my friends the Indonesians, why I like staying in Indonesia, my surroundings in Jakarta, the beautiful green trees in Jakarta, and the Indonesian culture that I know.
There are 22 foreign schools in Jakarta, many of which have confirmed their participation. (29)
