Competence and honesty vital

As Indonesians will directly elect their president and vice
president on July 5 next, the candidates must be backed by
political parties in accordance with the stipulation laid down by
the General Elections Commission.

I believe that Indonesians are now politically mature enough
to be allowed to follow their consciences in exercising their
right to elect their president and vice president directly.

The candidates must be capable and willing of carrying out
their duties. Gender should not matter as long as a candidate
gets enough support from political parties (a minimum of 3
percent). Then they must be honest and capable of working hard in
the interests of the nation. They must be able to lead this
nation to a better future.

So, every Indonesian must support whichever presidential and
vice presidential team that is elected democratically and gains a
mandate from the people.

Personally I will vote for candidates who are honest and
capable, and have broad perspectives. They must realize that
pluralism prevails in Indonesia.
