Compensation Payments for Pertamina and PLN to Be Disbursed Shortly, Says Finance Minister
Jakarta, VIVA – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that compensation payments to PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT PLN (Persero) for the beginning of the year will be disbursed shortly.
“That compensation is 70 per cent. I forget the exact figure — Rp27 trillion? For January and February,” Purbaya said at the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Monday, 23 February 2026.
The payments are being made in line with a revised compensation scheme that now operates on a monthly basis. Previously, compensation for government-mandated fuel prices and electricity tariffs was paid every three or six months.
Under the new scheme, the government disburses 70 per cent of the compensation value each month, with the remainder adjusted following a final calculation.
The change in mechanism is governed by Minister of Finance Regulation No. 73 of 2025 concerning Procedures for the Provision, Calculation, Payment and Accountability of Compensation Funds for Revenue Shortfalls of Business Entities Resulting from Policies on Retail Fuel Prices and Electricity Tariffs.
Purbaya confirmed that the compensation funds for January are currently being processed and that the budget has already been made available.
“January’s payment is being processed. It will be disbursed shortly. The budget is already available. January’s allocation is already available now,” he said.
The Ministry of Finance plans to make staged compensation payments each month from January to July 2026, amounting to 70 per cent of the billed value. Any outstanding shortfall will be calculated and settled in August following a reconciliation of actual disbursement data.
