Compartment Suite Train Breaks Record, Serves 5,712 Passengers in July 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Compartment Suite Train recorded its highest passenger volume for January–July 2026. In July 2026, the service with private travel compartments served 5,712 passengers, an increase of 10.21 per cent compared to June’s 5,183 passengers.
The July achievement continues the upward trend in Compartment Suite Train usage over recent months. Cumulatively, from January to July 2026 the service has served 31,835 passengers, growing 51.47 per cent compared to the same period in 2025, which recorded 21,017 passengers.
KAI Vice President Corporate Communication Anne Purba said the growth reflects the increasingly diverse preferences of customers in determining their rail travel experience.
“Each customer has different travel needs. Some consider efficiency, comfort, and privacy. The development of the Compartment Suite Train shows that the option of a more personal travel experience has a continuously growing market segment,” said Anne.
Passenger volume for the Compartment Suite Train in 2026 was recorded at 4,241 passengers in January, 3,987 in February, 4,023 in March, 4,019 in April, 4,670 in May, 5,183 in June, and 5,712 passengers in July.
Compared to January 2026, passenger volume in July increased by approximately 34.69 per cent. The increase became more visible from May, continued in June, and reached its highest point in July.
Anne added that this development serves as one indicator for KAI in reading the dynamics of customer needs and developing product differentiation in a measured manner.
“Railways serve an increasingly broad spectrum of travel, both in terms of destinations and customer preferences. KAI will continue to read these needs as part of service development, with safety and service quality remaining the priority,” Anne concluded.
