Compaq in hospital
Tempted by a massive promotional campaign in several newspapers, I bought a Compaq notebook computer Presario 1711AP on Nov. 28, 2001 at IT Valley in Mangga Dua Mall, one of the official Compaq outlets.
Much to my surprise, the computer went dead after being used less than a day.
Apparently, the great name behind a brand of computer is not always backed by good performance.
Several complaints to the dealer seeking a replacement were rudely rejected. In desperation, I left the computer to be maintenanced at Compaq workshop to replace the broken hard disk.
Regrettably, this "hospital" was so poorly equipped that all the replacement parts have had to be supplied from Singapore.
I am still baffled as to when I might be able to retrieve my "patient" from the "hospital."
