Company Utilises Duty-Free Facility for Exports to Cambodia
PT Kharisma Serasi Jaya, after 20 years of operating in the domestic market, has successfully exported alcoholic beverages to Cambodia on 11 March 2026. The company exported 853 cartons, or 14,736 bottles, of alcohol-containing beverages (MMEA) by utilising the duty-free facility for excisable goods destined for export.
Joko Sartono, Head of Education and Information Services at Semarang Customs, stated that the duty-free facility granted by Customs complies with prevailing legislation, which exempts excisable goods shipped overseas from duty collection. “With the duty-free facility, Indonesian products are able to compete competitively on price in the global market,” said Joko.
Joko emphasised Customs’ support for the smooth flow of export goods and trade facilitation. “We greatly appreciate PT Kharisma Serasi Jaya’s success in penetrating the Cambodian market. Customs will continue to provide excellent service and assistance so that domestic industries can continue to enhance their competitiveness and expand into global markets,” he said.
Customs has also committed to continuing its guidance and oversight of domestic industry operators to ensure smooth customs processing. Optimal facilitation is expected to provide significant benefits for the business sector and the national economy.

This MMEA export, in addition to providing positive effects for the company’s growth, also carries the important mission of introducing local products to the international stage. Going forward, the appropriate utilisation of customs and excise facilities is expected to increasingly encourage business operators to focus on exports and enhance the competitiveness of domestic products in the global market.
