Company Defends Security Guard Who Reprimanded Alphard Driver for Running Red Light at Bundaran HI

The company has spoken out regarding the security guard who reprimanded a Toyota Alphard driver for running a red light in the Bundaran HI area of Central Jakarta. WIKA-RAU KSO stated that Victor Harefa is one of the security officers assigned to the Extended Concourse Bundaran HI Project, tasked with supporting security in the project area. WIKA-RAU KSO stated that it prioritises professionalism, compliance with work procedures, and the safety and comfort of the public around the project area. ‘The company will also ensure that every personnel member who performs their duties professionally receives protection in accordance with applicable regulations,’ it said. WIKA-RAU KSO also stated its commitment to following up on every incident as part of the evaluation process to continuously improve safety, security, and the quality of work execution in the project area. ‘We urge all road users to always obey traffic signs, road markings, and signals for mutual safety,’ it appealed. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded with a similar sentiment, defending the security guard whom he considered to be carrying out his duties. ‘I happened to watch repeatedly the security guard in front near the Pullman to Grand Hyatt crossing. And from the CCTV data we also have, it is actually more complete than what went viral,’ Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Friday (24/7). ‘Firstly, regarding the fate of the security guard, I will request that he not be dismissed or terminated,’ he added. He said the security guard had actually performed his duties very well, while the Alphard driver committed a traffic violation and was found not to be using the original licence plate. ‘In fact, the person concerned actually carried out their duties very well. And it appears that the Alphard car was the one that violated the rules. And we also received a report that the car was using fake plates,’ he stated. Pramono requested law enforcement to impose sanctions on the Alphard driver. He conveyed that if the case is not resolved properly, the Alphard driver will feel powerful and unremorseful for their actions. ‘So, for the security guard, once again I request that he not be dismissed and continue to be employed as usual. Because this security guard was carrying out his duties and everyone can see from the CCTV, including the more complete footage owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
