Company Boss Found Dead in South Jakarta Luxury Hotel, Suspected Marital Problems

WH, a 47-year-old man who served as a director of a company, was found dead with a gunshot wound in a luxury hotel room in South Jakarta. Police suspect the cause of death was suicide, driven by personal problems with his wife.

Kasi Humas Polres Metro Jakarta Selatan AKP Joko Adi Wibowo stated on Friday (17/7/2026) that the victim was believed to have been experiencing marital issues. “The suspicion is that he was having problems with his wife. So, it was a personal matter. He felt he had wronged his wife,” Joko explained.

The victim had checked into the hotel accompanied by his driver. Prior to the incident, he sent a message of apology to his children and wife regarding their household relations. The wife became suspicious upon receiving the message and asked the driver to check on WH in the hotel room. The driver subsequently found the victim’s lifeless body.

Joko added that, based on the investigation, WH and his wife had actually been in the process of trying to mend their relationship. “They were actually trying to fix things. Initially, the husband felt he had wronged his wife, but on that day, their communication was good, and they intended to reconcile,” he said. The body was discovered on Wednesday evening (15/7) with a gunshot wound.
