Company Agrees on Investment for Development of Zero-Sugar, Zero-Calorie Beverages
PT Ikaria Multirasa Group, the producer of ZOZO soft drinks, and PT Taurus Gemilang have officially announced a new strategic investment to drive the trend for zero-sugar and zero-calorie beverages, amidst the growing food and beverage sector supported by the digital landscape.
Both companies identified opportunities within the food and beverage sector, which is projected to grow by approximately 6.49% to 6.51% towards mid-2026, despite consumer businesses being affected by inflation and pressures on public purchasing power.
Small and medium-scale food and beverage players are also leveraging this growth momentum, particularly by utilising local and viral trends on social media. Direct-to-consumer digital marketing has become a key driver of growth, accompanied by the rapid adaptation of small businesses to changing buyer preferences.
Ikaria Multirasa Group, a beverage producer, and Taurus Gemilang, a hospitality and F&B company operating since 1989, alongside Naiman Global acting as an advisor, are seizing this opportunity through investment in the development of ZOZO products.
“As consumer preferences continue to evolve, especially among younger consumers seeking zero-sugar options and becoming more health-conscious, we see a significant opportunity to develop the zero-sugar beverage category,” said ZOZO Co-Founder, Yanni Sialas, as quoted from a press release on Wednesday (9/9/2026).
According to Yanni, the investment commitment will help both parties provide complementary capabilities, market understanding, and business scale to make better beverages more accessible to the public across Indonesia.
Through this investment, ZOZO will introduce zero-sugar and zero-calorie soda options featuring the distinct flavour of Stevia sweetener. The company also plans to expand its portfolio, which includes cola, mixers, and soda water, to six different variants.
Previously, ZOZO had been operating with three product variants across the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetube), Bali, Bandung, and Surabaya.
CEO of Taurus Gemilang, Budi Purnomo, assessed ZOZO’s potential to grow through product innovation, distribution expansion, and brand strengthening that remains relevant to current changes in consumer interest.
“In the midst of increasingly challenging market conditions, we believe it is vital to remain disciplined and selective, focusing on businesses with strong fundamentals, a clear position, and long-term potential,” he stated.
