Commuter Line Region 8 Records 652,692 Passengers During Eid

Surabaya, East Java - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia, or KAI Commuter, recorded a passenger volume of 652,692 on the Commuter Line in Surabaya Region 8 during the Eid transport period for 1447 H, from 11 to 24 March 2026. “This figure demonstrates the high level of public trust in the Commuter Line as a reliable mode of transport during the Eid homecoming and holiday period,” said VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, in Surabaya on Tuesday. According to her, the increase in passenger volume indicates that the Commuter Line has become the primary choice for people in the region for short to medium-distance journeys. Karina explained that during this period, KAI Commuter Region 8 Surabaya also operated 50 trips every day to ensure services remain optimal, safe, comfortable, and on time. She detailed the passenger volume per route, including 201,425 users on the Dhoho Commuter Line and 190,012 on the Penataran Commuter Line. Karina stated that KAI Commuter continues to optimise digital services to make it easier for the public to access schedule information, ticket availability, and travel support features. She added that the company is also encouraging the public to plan their trips in advance, including purchasing tickets from H-7 before departure through the official app, so that people can travel more comfortably and organised. “We urge all passengers to purchase tickets from H-7 before departure via the Access by KAI app,” she said.
