Passengers on the Bogor-Jakarta Kota Commuter Line were shocked by allegations of a passenger defecating inside a train carriage. KAI Commuter Indonesia (KCI) has stated it will take firm action regarding the incident.
As reported on Saturday (12/9/2026), a social media post went viral showing a passenger allegedly defecating in a carriage on the Bogor-Jakarta Kota route. Photos circulating in the post show cleaning staff in yellow uniforms tidying the carriage floor, while some passengers are seen covering their noses.
The post alleges that the individual responsible was a male passenger, and some netizens have claimed to have witnessed similar incidents.
KCI is set to take decisive action. KAI Commuter Indonesia (KCI) responded to the incident by strongly condemning the perpetrator’s actions.
“KAI Commuter strongly condemns the behaviour of a Commuter Line user who failed to maintain cleanliness and comfort within the train,” said Karina Amanda, VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, on Friday (11/9).
Cleaning staff immediately sanitised the carriage floor following the event. Officials are currently investigating the incident by gathering information and reviewing CCTV footage.
“KAI Commuter will also take firm action against users who cause discomfort to others and disregard the rules when using the Commuter Line,” she added.
She urged all passengers to utilise the toilet facilities provided, which are available at all stations.
“These toilet facilities are placed in locations that are easy for users to access. KAI Commuter also urges all passengers to always maintain cleanliness and comfort, and to always respect other passengers,” she concluded.
