Community Kitchens Operational for Earthquake Survivors in NTT
The National Board of Zakat (Baznas) RI, together with BCA Syariah, has established community kitchens to assist communities affected by the earthquake in Asi Hamlet, Pota Village, Sambi Rampas District, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The operation of these community kitchens is focused on ensuring nutritional fulfillment and the availability of ready-to-eat meals for 1,405 beneficiaries at the disaster site. In its implementation, the community kitchen operations also involve the participation of local residents to accelerate the daily distribution of food portions.
Rizaludin Kurniawan, Head of Mobilisation and Collection at Baznas RI, expressed appreciation for the concern and trust shown by BCA Syariah in distributing humanitarian aid through Baznas.
“BCA Syariah is one of Baznas’s strategic partners in helping those in need. For this humanitarian aid, Alhamdulillah, Baznas has distributed it to our brothers and sisters in need in NTT in the form of providing food at the Baznas Community Kitchen,” said Rizal_udin in his statement on Wednesday (16/9).
Acting Director of Infak, Sedekah, and DSKL at Baznas RI, Fitriansyah Agus Setiawan, added that Baznas ensures that the entrusted aid is distributed according to the needs of the disaster-affected community.
“Every support entrusted to Baznas is managed and realised according to the real needs of the community at the disaster location. This support from BCA Syariah is optimally converted into the provision of food portions in the Baznas Community Kitchen. We hope this assistance can provide real benefits and lighten the burden of our brothers and sisters in East Manggarai,” said Fitriansyah.
On the same occasion, the Corporate Secretary of BCA Syariah, Muhammad Fikri Hudaya, explained that this participation is a form of the company’s care and emergency response action.
“Through this collaboration, we want to be directly present in helping to meet the most basic needs of the earthquake survivors in NTT, namely the availability of decent food. We express our gratitude to Baznas for facilitating the distribution of this aid through a proven network, so that field handling can run effectively and precisely,” said Fikri.
The presence of these community kitchens is an effort to ensure that all layers of society, especially those living below the poverty line, do not face difficulties in accessing food.
