Communications Minister Reminds that WFH Implementation Must Not Disrupt Public Services
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, has reminded that the implementation of Work From Home (WFH) every Friday must not reduce the quality and speed of public services to the community. She explained that the WFH policy, starting from 1 April 2026, is part of the government’s work culture transformation to enhance efficiency and the utilisation of digital technology. “This WFH is not an additional holiday. It must not reduce effectiveness, must not reduce productivity, and must not disrupt the speed of services from the ministry,” said Meutya during the morning assembly at the Ministry of Communications and Digital Office in Jakarta on Monday. Meutya emphasised that changes in work patterns must be accompanied by performance that remains measurable. According to her, this policy is designed to curb mobility and increase operational efficiency, including restrictions on official travel and the use of operational vehicles, as well as redirecting budgets to national priority programmes. “We must instead become the prime example that working remotely online can still deliver maximum and measurable results,” stated Meutya. Meutya also reminded that global challenges demand that the entire apparatus remain disciplined and focused in their work. She asked all employees to maintain their work rhythm and enhance collaboration. “We must remain focused, calm, productive, and support each other. What the world is facing right now is not easy,” she said. Meutya stressed the importance of solid leadership and aligned internal communication so that the policy can run effectively throughout the organisation. “There must be no difference in enthusiasm between the top and the bottom. If this happens, we will face difficulties,” she asserted.
