According to Iwan, one of the frequent complaints concerns the front suspension sector. Usually the problem appears on cars that frequently traverse damaged roads or are ageing. “The front suspension starts making noise when the wear is high or roads are rough,” Iwan said. In addition, the rack steer is also said to often experience play or to produce a clunking sound when the car is in use. “Rack steer sometimes shows play or a clunking sound,” he said. Not only that, engine mounting on several units also begins to produce vibrations when the engine is idling or stationary. “Engine mounting on some units starts to vibrate when stationary,” he said. For CVT variants, Iwan reminds potential buyers to really pay attention to the history of transmission oil changes, because infrequently maintained CVTs can experience jerks or snatch during acceleration. “CVT transmissions require maintenance. If the CVT oil is not changed on time, symptoms of jerks or snatch usually occur,” he said. Then in the cabin cooling sector, the air conditioning of used Honda Brio also needs to be checked thoroughly.
