Committee encourages prospective students to make use of UM-PTKIN registration period
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Committee for New Student Admissions to State Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PMB PTKIN) is encouraging prospective students to take advantage of the registration period for the 2026 PTKIN Entrance Exam (UM-PTKIN), which runs until 30 May 2026.
National PMB PTKIN Committee Chairman Abdul Aziz stated that UM-PTKIN is not merely an entry selection pathway to higher education but also a strategic gateway to shaping an outstanding academic generation with integrity and moderate Islamic insights.
“PTKIN serves as a higher education institution that integrates knowledge, values, and character. Through UM-PTKIN 2026, we are opening broad opportunities for Indonesia’s young generation to become part of an inclusive, innovative, and competitive academic ecosystem,” Aziz said during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He explained that UM-PTKIN 2026 can be taken by MA/MAK/SMA/SMK/SPM/PDF/PKPPS students or equivalents graduating in 2024, 2025, and 2026. Participants can select a maximum of three study programmes at PTKIN or public universities and choose their exam location.
The entire registration process is conducted independently via the official UM-PTKIN website at https://um.ptkin.ac.id. Registration is complete once participants finalise it.
“The implementation of SSE makes the exam paperless, more efficient and accurate, technology-based, and upholds principles of fairness, transparency, non-discrimination, and accessibility for persons with disabilities,” Aziz said.
State Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions, encompassing UIN, IAIN, and STAIN, he added, continue to develop into centres of academic excellence in various fields of knowledge, from religious studies, sciences, social sciences, health, economics, to technology.
Through UM-PTKIN, prospective students also have the opportunity to choose up to three study programmes according to their interests and potentials.
The UM-PTKIN 2026 selection materials focus on measuring participants’ reasoning abilities and academic readiness through scholastic aptitude tests and literacy tests.
The National PMB PTKIN Committee is also introducing several innovations this year, including SSE exam simulations to help participants understand the exam system, information on the competitiveness levels of study programmes, and enhanced services for participants with disabilities from registration to testing.
Registration for UM-PTKIN 2026 opened on 13 April 2026 at 08:00 WIB and closes on 30 May 2026 at 15:00 WIB. Payments can be made from 13 April 2026 at 08:00 WIB until 30 May 2026 at 23:59 WIB.
Meanwhile, registration finalisation runs until 3 June 2026 at 15:00 WIB, and exam card printing begins on 1 May 2026 at 08:00 WIB. The exam is scheduled for 8-14 June 2026, with selection results announced on 30 June 2026.
The UM-PTKIN 2026 registration fee is Rp200,000, payable through banks designated by the national committee.
Aziz emphasised that UM-PTKIN 2026 is part of efforts to strengthen the quality of Islamic religious higher education in Indonesia through a nationally standardised selection system.
“PTKIN is not just a place of learning, but a space for growth for Indonesia’s future generation,” he said.
