The Central Java Provincial Government has received an award from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) as the province with the best investment services in Indonesia at the 2026 Investment Service Awards (ALI). In this category, Central Java secured third place, following North Maluku and East Java.

The award was presented directly to the Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, during the 2026 ALI event at the Nusantara Room, Suhartoyo Building, Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 16 September 2026.

Luthfi stated that the award is the result of the hard work of the Department of Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) and the support of relevant stakeholders. He noted that the recognition serves as motivation to further improve investment and licensing services to ensure they remain fast, easy, and excellent.

“This provides us with spirit. Because one of the gateways to investment is the availability of fast, easy, and excellent licensing and services,” he said. Consequently, Luthfi urged his staff to enhance their performance, suggesting that officers should be proactive, serve with a smile, and actively engage with potential investors regarding their needs and challenges.

Based on data, investment realisation in Central Java during the first semester of 2026 reached Rp59.94 trillion. This comprised Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) of Rp25.92 trillion (53.40%), Domestic Direct Investment (PMDN) of Rp22.62 trillion (46.60%), and MSME investment of Rp11.40 trillion. These investments successfully created 213,217 jobs through 55,989 projects.

Through these investments, it is hoped that more jobs will be created, the local economy strengthened, and ultimately, community welfare increased. “Investment is one of the ways to grow the economy and improve the welfare of the people in our region,” Luthint stated on various occasions.

The Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, Roslan Roeslani, stated that investment services are key to improving the overall investment climate in Indonesia. The goal is to attract both domestic and foreign investment while creating jobs, which remains a shared national responsibility.

“Investment is one of the programmes that enables job creation to function well. My thanks go to all ministries, agencies, provincial governments, and regency/city governments that have assisted in boosting investment and industry,” he said.

According to the Minister, measurable and structured investment services provide investment certainty, starting from service delivery and timing, which will have a positive impact. “Our work must be fast, our work must be good, and it must have a significant impact, especially on the economy. In attracting investment, we must compete with neighbouring countries. We must not fall behind; in fact, we must be more advanced in order to create excellent investment services,” he added.

During the event, the Semarang Regency Government also received an investment service award, while Karanganyar Regency was among the top six nominees in the same category.
