Commitment to Creating Thousands of Jobs and Boosting Local Entrepreneurship
Mixue’s beverage and ice cream chain reaffirms its commitment to contributing to Indonesia’s economic growth through job creation, fostering local entrepreneurship, and strengthening business ecosystems across regions. As the business expands, the company states its presence is not only focused on growth but also on delivering economic and social benefits to communities. This is achieved through a franchise partnership model that enables individuals to start businesses with integrated operational support.
Alexs, Head of Public Relations for Southeast Asia at Mixue, said the partnership model is designed to provide wider access for those wishing to start independent businesses.
“Mixue will continue to commit to sustainable growth in Indonesia, built on its existing foundations. In operations, we strictly adhere to regulations, meet halal standards, and continuously adjust products to suit local tastes,” Alexs stated on Monday (1 June).
According to the company, over 1,400 Indonesians have opened Mixue outlets through the partnership program. These partners are seen as supporting the growth of micro and small businesses in various regions while expanding opportunities for people to become entrepreneurs.
JOB CREATION
In addition to promoting entrepreneurship, Mixue’s store network has also contributed to job absorption. The company claims to have provided around 12,800 direct jobs in Indonesia, with over 96% of workers being local.
The company believes these outlets create job opportunities for various groups, particularly young people seeking formal employment and stable income sources.
Economic impact is also felt through the supply chain involving various supporting sectors. Mixue’s business activities are said to drive demand in logistics, construction and store renovations, raw material processing, as well as packaging and operational materials industries.
According to company data, these supply chain activities indirectly support over 20,000 additional jobs across related economic sectors.
Alexs stated the company will continue strengthening collaborations with local partners as part of its long-term growth strategy in Indonesia.
“Going forward, we will continue to support local franchise partners in developing their businesses, creating more jobs, and contributing positively to related industries. Participation in local social and cultural activities is also key to strengthening the company’s relationship with communities,” he said.
SOCIAL PROGRAMMES
Beyond economic contributions, Mixue runs various social programmes targeting local communities. During Eid al-Fitr, the company regularly organises sharing events and community meals. It also provides aid to orphanages and child welfare institutions through social initiatives.
In disaster and emergency situations, the company participates in humanitarian aid for affected communities. Environmentally, Mixue continues to promote sustainable operational practices, including reducing plastic use across its store network.
Several analysts have noted that Mixue’s successful expansion in Indonesia demonstrates how global companies can thrive by integrating local communities into their business ecosystem. Beyond job creation, the model is seen as expanding business opportunities and delivering broader economic impacts at the regional level.
“We hope to continue growing with Indonesia in the long term, becoming a trusted and beloved beverage brand, and advancing alongside local partners to make tangible contributions to Indonesia’s economic and social development,” Alexs said.
