Commissioner General Rudi Setiawan, Former West Java Police Chief, Inaugurated as Inspector General of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections
Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto inaugurated Commissioner General Rudi Setiawan as the new Inspector General of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/7). “May you always receive guidance and guidance from God Almighty in carrying out this duty,” Minister Agus told Rudi during the inauguration ceremony. Agus, a former Deputy Chief of the National Police, stressed that the position is a mandate that must be executed with full responsibility, integrity, and dedication. The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections stated that Setiawan’s inauguration is part of an effort to strengthen the internal oversight function. Setiawan is tasked with enhancing the ministry’s integrity and promoting transparent and accountable governance. Following the inauguration, Setiawan signed and read an integrity pact. Setiawan is a high-ranking National Police officer holding the rank of Commissioner General, or three-star general. He previously served as Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) before being reassigned to the police force as the Chief of West Java Regional Police. After serving as West Java Police Chief from April 2025 to May 2026, Setiawan was transferred to the National Police Headquarters. His rotation from West Java Police Chief to a high-ranking officer position at the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) was stipulated in Telegram Letter Number: ST/960/V/KEP./2026 dated 7 May 2026. The letter stated that the command baton for West Java Police Chief would subsequently be held by Inspector General Pipit Rismanto, who was previously the West Kalimantan Police Chief. Setiawan later received a promotion in rank, with the ceremony held in late March. “Inspector General Rudi Setiawan now officially holds the rank of Police Commissioner General, or three-star general. The promotion was confirmed during a ceremony for high-ranking officers of the Indonesian National Police held on Tuesday, 30 June 2026,” according to the police’s official news portal.
