Commission XIII: Presidential Staff Reshuffle is the President's Right to Choose People According to Capability

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission XIII, Andreas Hugo Pareira, assessed that the reshuffle or replacement of the Presidential Chief of Staff, previously held by Muhammad Qodari and now by Dudung Abdurrahman, is the prerogative of President Prabowo Subianto to appoint individuals according to their capabilities.

“This is certainly a prerogative to place people according to their capabilities and the objectives of the assignment in the institution led,” Andreas said when contacted from Jakarta on Monday.

According to him, the cabinet reshuffle held today by President Prabowo Subianto is merely a shift of duties for Qodari from the position of Presidential Chief of Staff to the position of Head of the Government Communication Agency.

“I hope Mr Dudung will carry out his duties in accordance with the needs of the Presidential Staff Office in implementing the President’s vision and mission,” he said.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated TNI (Ret.) General Dudung Abdurachman as Presidential Chief of Staff in an inauguration ceremony held at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday.

The 33rd Army Chief of Staff was inaugurated to replace Muhammad Qodari. Before becoming Presidential Chief of Staff, he also served as Special Advisor to the President for National Defence.

Meanwhile, Qodari has now been inaugurated as Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom), replacing Angga Raka Prabowo.
