Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives has officially appointed Friderica Widyasari Dewi as Chairman of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners for the 2026-2031 period. The decision was reached through consensus following a fit and proper test process held at the DPR building on Wednesday, 11 March.
Mukhamad Misbakhun, Chairman of Commission XI, emphasised that the appointment was made with careful consideration of the candidates’ competence and integrity.
Widyasari Dewi, who previously served as Executive Head of the Oversight Division for Financial Services Conduct, Consumer Education and Protection, now assumes this significant leadership responsibility. In her vision, she is committed to strengthening strategic architecture to maintain national economic stability towards Indonesia’s Golden 2045 vision.
The appointment of Friderica marks a historic milestone as the first woman to serve as OJK Chairman. Her leadership is expected to bring fresh perspectives to consumer protection and more transparent capital market oversight.
The Board of Commissioners for the 2026-2031 period includes Friderica Widyasari Dewi as Chairman and Deputy Chairman, with Hasan Fawzi serving as Chief Executive for Capital Market Oversight.
Commission XI will next submit the approved names to DPR leadership for discussion in the plenary session on Thursday, 12 March, after which the appointment will be forwarded to the President for official inauguration.
