Jakarta – Abidin Fikri, Deputy Chair of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, has called on the Ministry of Religious Affairs to immediately disburse the Professional Allowance for Teachers (TPG) at Islamic schools (madrasah) ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 1447H.

Abidin Fikri stressed that the welfare of madrasah teachers is the full responsibility of the central government through the state budget, and that teachers’ right to receive TPG must be paid on time.

“Delays in paying madrasah teacher allowances risk triggering social unrest if teachers’ rights are not prioritised before Eid,” he said to media in Jakarta on Monday, 9 March 2026.

Based on findings during the parliamentary recess, madrasah teachers have complained that TPG payments remain delayed and unpunctual.

Abidin, a politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan), urged the Ministry of Religious Affairs to accelerate data verification through the Simpatika system so that 405,438 madrasah teachers can receive their monthly entitlements without waiting for Eid to arrive.

Although the disbursement of phases three and four of the Decision Letter on Eligibility Analysis for Allowance Recipients (SKAKPT) commenced today, this staged process must be accelerated to avoid disappointing thousands of religious educators whose salaries remain low.

“Commission VIII will not stand idle; we will monitor to ensure that madrasah teachers’ rights are fulfilled on time before Eid, avoiding protests everywhere as a result of this injustice,” he said.
