Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of the House of Representatives’ Commission VII, Novita Hardini, handed over humanitarian aid in the form of one ambulance unit to the community in Karangan Subdistrict, Trenggalek Regency, East Java. The legislator from East Java stated that this humanitarian ambulance aid represents a commitment to bringing the state to the midst of the people. “This ambulance aid is an aspiration of the community that has been successfully advocated for so that healthcare services can be more easily accessed,” said Novita in her statement in Jakarta on Saturday. She explained that the ambulance is not privately owned but belongs collectively to the people of Trenggalek. “This ambulance is a tangible manifestation of the struggle for aspirations so that residents, especially the underprivileged, can receive quick healthcare services in emergency conditions,” she said. The handover of the aid took place at the end of Ramadan, witnessed by the Subdistrict Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimcam), village heads throughout Karangan Subdistrict, the Family Welfare Empowerment Movement (TP PKK), religious figures, and residents from Karangan, Suruh, and Tugu Subdistricts. As the only female legislator from electoral district 7 of East Java, she hopes the ambulance can be used for incidental and crucial needs, from patient referrals to healthcare facilities to assisting residents who have difficulty accessing medical transportation. She also called on all village heads and regional stakeholders to ensure that the ambulance facility is maximally utilised for the benefit of the community. In addition to handing over the ambulance, the young politician also distributed hundreds of basic food packages to vulnerable groups, the poor, and the needy in Karangan Subdistrict. Novita described the basic food package aid as a form of social concern during the holy month of Ramadan and ahead of Eid. “The entire community is one big family. If there are siblings in difficulty, it is a collective responsibility to be present and support each other,” she said. The event took place in the environment of Aba Husada Clinic, which was also appreciated for its support in providing healthcare services to residents. Through this activity, Novita emphasised that political work must be present not only in meeting rooms but also felt directly by the community in its benefits. “The state must truly be present. No citizen should feel like they are walking alone when facing difficulties,” she said.
