Commission V Urges the Ministry of Villages to Expand Partnerships to Drive the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives
Efforts extend beyond inter-ministerial cooperation to involve a wide range of partners, including the private sector, higher education institutions, public figures, and others, in order to accelerate policy refinement and ensure programme implementation on the ground remains effective.
This approach received a positive response from Yandri Susanto, the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Kemendes PDT), who noted that Kemendes PDT has already collaborated with relevant parties to support village development and community empowerment. He explained that KDMP and BUMDesa complement each other and support other flagship programs initiated by President Prabowo Subianto. He spoke during the Working Meeting with Kemendes PDT in Senayan, Jakarta, on the day.
‘Kopdes is a solution to increase residents’ welfare in line with the President’s Sixth Nawa Cita. BUMDesa and Kopdes do not overlap; BUMDesa is already operating, and rather than duplicating, they reinforce one another. Each has its own strengths.’
During the session, Yandri outlined several points, including budget realisations as of 20 May 2026 reaching 29.91 per cent of the total appropriation in the Daftar Isian Pelaksanaan Anggaran (DIPA), amounting to Rp 613.9 billion from an effective ceiling of Rp 2.05 trillion. In addition, the progress of the Follow-up on the Results of the Audit (TLHP) at the Ministry stood at 80.42 per cent, with the aim of further increases in the near term until all BPK recommendations are fulfilled in full.
The strategy includes tightening more stringent regulations to prevent repeated findings and other irregularities, and optimising the role of the State Loss Recovery Team (PKN) and the PKN panel in the establishment and collection of state receivables. ‘In addition, Kemendes PDT will continue to improve and enhance accountability in the performance of bureaucratic reform and implement an effective internal control system,’ he said.
Earlier, the DPR’s Commission V urged Kemendes PDT to take a larger role in safeguarding programme implementation on a sustainable basis. This effort is viewed as essential so that village programmes can raise living standards and strengthen the village economy sustainably.
‘It is indeed a long journey, but if all ministries push for a downward alignment, it will become a success story. We strongly urge the Ministry of Villages to take policy refinement steps quickly and implement them rapidly to produce tangible effects,’ said Deputy Chairman Syaiful Huda of Commission V.
Two important themes were discussed at Commission V’s Working Meeting: Evaluation of the 2026 APBN implementation up to May 2026, and the Haspem results from BPK RI for Semester I and II 2025. KDMP and BUMDesa are central to these discussions as primary instruments in achieving village development targets and empowering the village economy.
