REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIMAHI - Deputy Chair of Commission V of the West Java DPRD, Ummi Siti Oded, assessed that the readiness of the Health Service Post at the Rest Area KM 125 in Cimahi City has generally been running well in supporting services for the public during the Lebaran homecoming and return flows in 2026.

According to her, the existence of health posts at strategic points such as rest areas plays a vital role, especially in anticipating medical service needs for homecomers undertaking long journeys. She appreciated the readiness of the personnel, which she deemed sufficiently optimal, supported by cross-sector collaboration ranging from health workers and standby ambulances to referral hospital support.

“Overall, the team on duty has demonstrated good readiness. Health personnel, ambulances, and hospital support have been prepared collaboratively to serve the public,” said Ummi on (25/3/2026).

However, she assessed that the available service space is not yet fully adequate, particularly in providing comfort and maintaining patient privacy. This condition becomes more complex with the integration of various personnel elements in one area, from security teams to health workers. This makes the utilisation of space less than optimal.

As part of the evaluation, Commission V of the West Java DPRD is pushing for improvements in facility quality. One of them is through the construction of more representative and permanent health service posts.

“Going forward, we hope that this health service post has more independent and permanent space. This is important to maintain patient privacy as well as a form of the government’s seriousness in providing the best services,” she said.

She emphasised that Commission V will convey these inputs to the West Java Provincial Government so that they can be followed up through collaboration with the local regional government.

With better improvements in facilities and infrastructure, it is hoped that health services at rest areas will not only be ready in terms of human resources but also able to provide maximum comfort for the public, especially during the Lebaran homecoming and return flow momentum.
