Jakarta (ANTARA) - Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives is urging the TNI and Polri to collaborate in investigating the acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS).

“Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives urges Polri and the TNI to continue collaborating in handling the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus,” said Chairman of Commission III Habiburokhman during a special meeting on the case in Jakarta on Wednesday.

This synergy is requested to be guided by Article 170 of Law Number 20 of 2025 on the new Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

That article regulates connected jurisdiction. It stipulates in paragraph (1) that criminal acts committed jointly by persons subject to general courts and military courts shall be tried by courts within the general judicial system.

Habib expressed appreciation to Polri and related parties for uncovering the suspected perpetrators. The same appreciation was conveyed by representatives of political party factions present at the meeting.

“Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives appreciates the performance of Polri and all related parties who have uncovered the incident and the identities of the perpetrators in the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus,” he said.

During the meeting, Commission III also agreed to the formation of a working committee to monitor this case.

It is known that Andrie Yunus was attacked by unidentified persons in central Jakarta on Thursday night (12/3).

The incident occurred shortly after Andrie completed a podcast recording at the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) office, which discussed the topic of militarism and the judicial review of the TNI Law.

In developments, Metro Jaya Police have uncovered two initialed suspected perpetrators of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus.

On the other hand, the TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom) has detained four personnel suspected of involvement in the case.

TNI Puspom Commander Major General Yusri Nuryanto in Jakarta on Wednesday said that the four personnel, initialed NDP, SL, BWH, and ES, were detained at Puspom TNI for further investigation.

“We state that all four suspected perpetrators are members of the Denma BAIS (Headquarters Detachment of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency). So, they are not from any unit, but from Denma BAIS TNI,” he said.
