The Deputy Head of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK), Sri Suparyati, has called for a thorough investigation into the background of NS’s father, who is identified as a gang member. This follows threats received by NS’s biological mother, Lisnawati, since the case came to light.

“We have also informed the police that Ibu Lisna’s ex-husband is a gang member who, in my view, warrants further attention from the police. Particularly because of the threats that Ibu Lisna frequently receives,” Sri Suparyati stated during a public hearing of Commission III of the National Parliament in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 2 June 2026.

Commission III Chairman Habiburokhman emphasised the need to protect Lisnawati’s security and demanded a deeper investigation into the father’s role.

“First and foremost, I request that the security of this mother be guaranteed. Deal with these gangsters. There is no excuse,” said Habiburokhman, adding that he expects swift action without unnecessary delays in addressing the core issues.

When contacted separately, Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Samian stated that he would investigate the information received and follow up on the matter.

“This is information we have received, and we will certainly examine it as it is valuable. We will follow up on it. Should there be objections from the witness or suspected threats, we will likewise investigate. We will seek evidence and await the victim or complainant’s willingness to provide statements,” said Samian.

Samian revealed that the police had also received a report from the legal representative of NS’s biological mother against her ex-husband, AS, alleging child neglect and abandonment filed on 24 February 2026.

The LPSK has urged the police to thoroughly investigate the background of NS’s father. The agency stressed that it obtained information about violence committed against NS through interviews with the child during the assessment process.

“From our team’s interviews following the assessment, we obtained information, including our suspicion and insistence that the investigating police check the background of Nizam’s father,” Sri Suparyati concluded.
