JAKARTA — Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives extended condolences following the death of Indonesia’s sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno.

The condolences were expressed by Commission III Chair Habiburokhman during the opening of a meeting at Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (2 March 2026).

“This morning we also heard the sad news of the passing of our elder, our nation’s leader, our former Vice President, Try Sutrisno,” said Habiburokhman on Monday.

He also expressed condolences to the Chair of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Margaret Aliyatul Maimunah and a child who died as a result of abuse by a stepmother, Nizam Syafei.

Furthermore, he prayed that they died in a state of husnul khotimah (a good ending) and were forgiven for their sins.

“We pray that the deceased rest in peace, are forgiven for their sins, have their good deeds accepted, their graves be expanded, and be placed in the best place in Allah’s paradise. Amen, Lord of the Worlds,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno passed away at the Central Military Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto, Jakarta, on Monday (2 March 2026).

Try Sutrisno passed away at RSPAD at 06:58 Western Indonesia Time.

According to plan, the body will be prayed over at Sunda Kelapa Mosque and buried at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery this afternoon.
