Commission II to discuss two bills

JAKARTA: The House of Representatives Commission II on home and legal affairs hopes to finish deliberation of two bills in the current sitting period, commission chairman Teras Narang said on Tuesday.

He said it would endorse a bill on the eradication of corruption and another on the legal profession.

"We only have 25 working days to discuss the bills but if time does not allow, we will focus on the first bill," he said. The sitting period ends on Nov. 30.

The House was supposed to pass the corruption bill in September last year.

Teras said the commission was also obliged to draft administrative requirements for Supreme Court justice candidates next month. --JP
