Jakarta (ANTARA) - Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives has scheduled a meeting with Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin to discuss three TNI soldiers who died in an Israeli attack in Lebanon as well as the acid attack case. Chairman of Commission I, Utut Adianto, when met at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, said the meeting would be adjusted to the Defence Minister’s schedule, and his side was seeking the appropriate time. “We are scheduling it because he is not unwilling; sometimes his schedule is set a month in advance. So, we will see; the important thing is that the meeting is straightforward and can uncover the facts so that we do not make mistaken policy decisions,” he said. Utut explained that the meeting would comprehensively discuss the matter of Indonesian soldiers falling in the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. The meeting would not only address geopolitical issues but also the acid attack incident. “Yes, that’s the fallen soldiers. We are all grieving; hopefully there will be no more deaths, and also regarding, hopefully, how our stance ensures that the acid attack case does not recur. That’s roughly the agenda,” Utut said. The three TNI soldiers serving in the UNIFIL peacekeeping force in Lebanon died due to an Israeli attack on Sunday (29/3) and Monday (30/3). They were Private First Class Farizal Rhomadhon, Captain (Inf) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, and Sergeant First Class Muhammad Nur Ichwan. The bodies of the three soldiers arrived in the homeland on Saturday (4/4) and have been handed over to their families. On the other hand, the acid attack case affected Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), Andrie Yunus. The Military Police have named four members of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) as suspects in this case, namely Captain NDP, First Lieutenant SL, First Lieutenant BHW, and Second Sergeant ES.
