Commerce Minister Budi Santoso, alongside Metro Jaya Police Chief Irjen Asep Edi Suheri, inspected the availability of essential foodstuffs at Kramat Jati Central Market in East Jakarta on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H (Lebaran 2026). Budi stated that prices and availability of basic foodstuffs remain under control.

The inspection, observed by detikcom, was conducted in conjunction with a community service initiative to clean and maintain the market. Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq also participated in the activity.

“We conduct online monitoring through SP2KP, which tracks prices across all of Indonesia at 550 market points in approximately 514 regencies and cities. Until now, thank goodness, prices for essential foodstuffs remain under control, supply is guaranteed, and prices are stable,” Budi said.

Budi stated that prices for basic foodstuffs continue to comply with the government-established Maximum Retail Price (HET). He assured that the government guarantees the availability of essential foodstuffs ahead of Eid.

“Should price increases occur, we will immediately coordinate with the Food Task Force, with relevant ministries and agencies, and of course with suppliers, and we can check prices daily through the SP2KP system we mentioned,” he explained.

Budi appreciated the Environment Ministry and Metro Jaya Police for intensifying the market cleaning programme through Bang Jasri (Bhayangkara Jakarta Asri). The activity represents follow-up to directives from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

“When the market is clean and hygienic, more people will come to shop,” he added.
