Commemorating World Mangrove Day, Rano Karno Tries Virtual Tree Planting on Shopee

Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno tried out virtual tree planting through the Shopee Tanam game during a mangrove planting activity in Jakarta on Sunday (26/7/2026). Shopee Indonesia, together with BenihBaik.com and the Jakarta Provincial Government through the Food Security, Marine Affairs, and Agriculture Office (DKPKP), planted 2,000 mangrove seedlings in the coastal area of Jakarta to commemorate World Mangrove Day. This planting was the realisation of the Shopee Peduli: Tanam Hutan Indonesia programme. Between 5 June and 20 July 2026, Shopee users actively contributed by donating and planting up to 100,000 virtual trees in the Shopee Tanam game. The active participation of 50,000 Shopee users was subsequently realised into the planting of 2,000 mangrove seedlings in Jakarta.
