Commemorating Pancasila Day, Indonesian Embassy in Beijing Reaffirms Pancasila as the Foundation of National Life
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Beijing, China, commemorated the 2026 Birth of Pancasila through a solemn flag ceremony held at the KBRI Beijing Hall. According to an official statement, the ceremony was led by the Indonesian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Djaucent Oratmangun, acting as the Ceremony Inspector, and was attended by the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), diplomats, KBRI Beijing staff, and members of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) KBRI Beijing.
During the event, Ambassador Djauhari Oratmangun asserted that Pancasila serves as the foundation for national and state life, remaining relevant in facing various modern challenges. Furthermore, he noted that Pancasila serves as a guide for Indonesia in contributing to global peace and progress.
This year’s commemoration adopted the theme “Pancasila as the Unifier of the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace.” The theme reaffirms the importance of maintaining unity amidst diversity and strengthens Indonesia’s commitment to humanitarian values and international cooperation.
The ceremony proceeded in an orderly and solemn manner. Following the proceedings, the KBRI Beijing community participated in a social gathering and breakfast. In a warm atmosphere, the serving of chicken porridge served as a simple reflection of Indonesia: diverse elements with different characters, yet blended to form a complete unity. This same philosophical value is what continues to be preserved and nurtured through Pancasila.
As Indonesia’s representative abroad, KBRI Beijing remains committed to making the values of Pancasila the primary basis for conducting Indonesian diplomacy, which upholds unity, tolerance, peace, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
