Commander orders arrest of fuel smugglers
ATAMBUA, East Nusa Tenggara: East Nusa Tenggara Military Commander Maj. Gen. William da Costa has ordered the arrest of anyone involved in fuel smuggling to East Timor.
The order followed accusations that some soldiers had abetted some of the smuggling.
William said on Wednesday that two suspects -- Maria and Emelia -- confessed that they sneaked 17 drums of kerosene by truck into East Timor via Builalu, where they bribed border guards to let them through.
William promised to take strong action against any members of the military guilty of having a role in the smuggling. -- Antara.
